Job summary

St. Joseph Hospital, a proud member of Catholic Health, seeks a Security Guard to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment in Bethpage, NY. You will respond to emergencies, control access, patrol facilities, and support fire safety initiatives while documenting incidents clearly.

The role requires a high school diploma, NYS guard license or active law enforcement, a NYS driver’s license, and BLS/AED certification, with 1 year of hospital security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• NYS Security Guard License OR Active Duty Law Enforcement required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• BLS & AED Certification required.
• One year of security experience preferred (hospital setting a plus).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Responding promptly to emergencies and security incidents.
• Controlling facility access and ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
• Conducting regular patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
• Assisting with fire safety inspections and staff education.
• Providing courteous support and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Preparing clear and timely incident reports.
