Job summary

Memorial Hermann in Houston seeks a Director of Security to lead security services for a large hospital campus, overseeing 1.5M+ sq ft and a team of 35 security personnel. The role reports to the Regional Director of Security and requires strong leadership and regulatory expertise.

Required are a BS in Criminal Justice or related field, Texas CHPA/license, 3+ years of security management experience, and excellent communication in English. Location at Southwest Hospital, Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Management, or related field.
• Licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer in Texas or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) or willing to obtain within 24 months.
• 3+ years of security or law enforcement management experience, preferably healthcare.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Directs and evaluates work of security staff and conducts performance reviews.
• Develops short- and long-term security plans to meet goals.
• Enforces regulatory requirements and coordinates with local authorities.
• Manages department budget and monitors expenses and FTEs.
• Provides security to VIPs and Memorial Hermann leadership.
