Job summary

Highmark Health invites students to join the Summer 2027 Reimbursement Analyst Undergraduate Internship to gain hands-on exposure to reimbursement structures, policy, and provider payment methodologies within a large payer network.

Interns will work under mentorship on projects related to reimbursement strategy, pricing, and operational improvements, building analytical and strategic thinking for healthcare finance roles.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Under supervision, participates in projects to develop professional skills in reimbursement strategy and policy.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the reimbursement team and contribute to assigned projects.
• Assist in planning and implementing reimbursement initiatives and pricing efforts.
• Conduct research and prepare reports with recommendations for action.
• Analyze data and support decision-making for reimbursement policies and provider payments.
• Collaborate with actuarial and business teams on value-based reimbursement initiatives.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation for reimbursement processes.
• Participate in cross-functional activities to support business objectives.
