Job summary

Onslow Memorial Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Painter Mechanic I to perform painting and general maintenance across hospital facilities, grounds, and outlying sites. The role supports patient care by maintaining a safe and clean environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with safety standards. Prior painting experience and basic trades knowledge are desirable, with potential collaboration with higher-level maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade school training desirable for related trades.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Familiar with hazards and safety precautions in industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and DFS standards and local codes.
• 1–3 years painting experience desirable; hospital experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform painting and general maintenance across hospital facilities.
• Repair drywall and install drywall where needed.
• Install carpet and floor tile; assist with flooring tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Repair minor mechanical equipment and systems as part of routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Mechanic II/III and hospital staff as needed.
