Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
• 5 years of professional Interior Design or Interior Architecture experience.
• Federal project experience is a plus.

Position SummaryGDM-AE, Inc. is staffing for federal healthcare construction and design support work at active healthcare facilities in Palo Alto, CA.The Healthcare Interior Designer crafts functional layouts enhancing workflow efficiencies and patient care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. This role develops design concepts to create healing environments for active healthcare facility renovation and new construction.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop functional interior layouts that enhance workflow efficiency and patient care.Apply evidence-based design principles to improve patient outcomes; create healing environments.Select finishes, furniture, and fixtures that meet aesthetic and practical needs and comply with infection control and fire safety standards.Ensure designs comply with all healthcare codes, ADA, IBC, infection control standards, federal healthcare design standards, and other applicable regulations.Develop solutions that balance code compliance, user needs, and project constraints (e.g., alternate details for unforeseen existing conditions).Oversee implementation of design plans; collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors; participate in site inspections to address design issues during construction.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture required.5 years of professional Interior Design or Interior Architecture experience.Focus on design and construction administration of commercial or institutional buildings. space planning, signage, furniture acquisitions, and activation.Healthcare project experience in renovation work within active facilities highly preferred.Federal project experience considered a plus.In-depth knowledge of building codes, ADA, safety and infection control requirements, and other healthcare-specific regulations.NCIDQ certification is a plus.Federal Contract RequirementsSome local travel within the Palo Alto service area is part of normal duties.Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment.Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.Employees represent themselves as contracted personnel, not federal employees, and do not perform inherently governmental functions.LocationOn-site, Palo Alto, CA.Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: $95,000-$115,000Health, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k) matchPTOAbout UsGDM-AE, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing full-service architecture and engineering solutions for federal agencies nationwide.
