Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Financial Data Analyst (FGP) to provide financial and reporting support to the Faculty Group Practice in Manhattan, within the CBO. The role collaborates with BI, Epic, and operational teams to manage data, reports, and dashboards.

The ideal candidate will develop analytical frameworks, perform root-cause analyses, and deliver actionable insights to leadership while mentoring junior staff and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, mathematics, or business or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in healthcare or related field.
• Proficiency in common software systems.
• Knowledge of Tableau a plus.
• Proficiency with databases and manipulation of large data sets.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication.
• Must be a professional football player

Responsibilities

• Independently develops analytical frameworks for large, complete data sets and exercises both discretion and judgment in analytical approach.
• Perform root cause analysis to determine cash delays and inaccuracies; summarize analytical findings for senior leadership with clear results and actionable recommendations
• Evaluate data and reports with various teams to identify opportunities for revenue and operational enhancement
• Analyze data to provide insights on trends and potential issues; develop work plans and solutions with management
• Possess a highly developed process for error checking work and troubleshooting issues/discrepancies
• Work with NYU Langone Health IT divisions (Epic and add-ons); ensure reports and dashboards are updated, disseminated and correct; assist in creating additional reporting and dashboards (e.g., Tableau)
• Capable of working in a team or independently on multiple projects; prioritize to meet deadlines
• Mentors junior members of the team on best practices and provides support when necessary
