Job summary

WTW is seeking a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Senior Analyst in the United States to lead complex health benefits analyses, design and funding strategies, and client deliverables. You will work with vendors, client teams, and cross-functional partners to produce accurate financial models and pricing scenarios.

Responsibilities include supporting plan design decisions, reviewing vendor financials, and communicating results clearly to clients.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in professional services, ideally in benefit consulting/brokerage or health underwriting/actuarial function.
  • Basic knowledge of health and welfare products & services.
  • Ability to learn big data analytics techniques.
  • Knowledge of carrier claim reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time within budget.
  • Strong client service orientation and timely communication.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.

Description

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Senior Analyst you will contribute to a wide variety of complex analyses and projects involving the design, financing, and measurement and financial analysis of the full spectrum of employer health and group benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability, voluntary benefits, etc. You will interface with vendors and client teams, help prepare client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to significantly grow your health and benefits business acumen as well as your financial, project management and communication skills by working on cutting edge projects alongside leaders in the industry.

The Role

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of health and welfare products & services.

  • Ability to learn big data analytic technics preferred.

  • Knowledge of carrier claim reporting.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget.

  • Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner.

  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.

  • Relevant financial experience and/or university degree.

  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation (optional).

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 USD annually.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
