Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Salem VA Medical Center seeks a Healthcare Engineer (Project Engineer) to plan, design, manage construction, and administer Minor Construction, NRM, Station Level Projects, and Leases at Salem and affiliated clinics.

Responsibilities include coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring codes and standards compliance, and supporting clinical facility needs with a strong engineering foundation and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture from ABET/ NCEES-equivalent program.
• Passing FE exam evidence or state trainee certificate acceptable.
• Current PE/Architect license or registration when applicable.
• Foreign education evaluated for equivalence when outside the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, produce and manage designs for healthcare facilities.
• Oversee construction and construction administration for minor/NRM projects.
• Coordinate across disciplines and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Support leases and station-level project activities at Salem facilities.
