Job summary

ND Health and Human Services seeks a Healthcare Facility (HCF) Plans Reviewer in the Public Health - Life Safety and Construction Unit to review construction plans and perform on-site inspections of health care facilities for NFPA and building code compliance.

The role involves interviewing staff, documenting deficiencies, and coordinating corrective actions with owners, architects, engineers and contractors; travel across North Dakota is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in engineering, architecture, architectural drafting, construction management or a closely related degree.
• Four years of construction-related work experience, including training in building systems or fire code compliance.
• Preference for licensure or registration in architecture or engineering fields and knowledge of fire codes, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with fire codes and construction standards.
• Perform on-site inspections of health care facilities to verify compliance.
• Interview facility staff, review records, and document deficiencies.
• Prepare reports and coordinate corrective actions with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
