Job summary

JWCH Institute, Inc is seeking a diligent Janitor to support the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping Wesley Health Centers facilities clean, sanitized, and orderly. The role covers cleaning patient areas, restrooms, laboratories, offices, and common spaces, while following safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

The ideal candidate has basic computer skills, a valid CA driver's license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid CA Driver's License with clean driving record and ability to travel to different sites.
• Basic computer skills, including email and web navigation.
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Proven janitorial or custodial work experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• All JWCH workforce members are recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning and maintenance to JWCH health care facilities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Clean and sanitize patient exam rooms, bathrooms, laboratories, staff areas, offices, hallways, and waiting rooms.
• Maintain restroom supplies and replenish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors; operate floor cleaning equipment.
• Remove stains and maintain carpets and rugs.
• Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste; follow hazardous material disposal procedures.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies and adherence to safety policies.
• Participate in safety and compliance trainings and apply best practices in daily work.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions; ensure security by locking and securing premises as required.
• Communicate with patients and team members using the AIDET framework when appropriate.
