Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance seeks a Director of Planning, Design, and Construction to manage the full lifecycle of capital projects and strategic facility initiatives across CHA.

From concept to completion, you will oversee planning, architectural design, construction, relocations, and major equipment replacements while ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal codes and maintaining fiscal control over budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business or related field (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years facilities planning, design and construction management experience, including 4+ years in healthcare environments.
• Proficiency in reading/interpreting architectural and MEP plans; experience with industry tools.
• Strong regulatory knowledge: Joint Commission, NFPA, Life Safety, MA Building Code, DPH guidelines.
• Leadership, budgeting, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work across departments.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and project management for healthcare design and construction projects across CHA.
• Oversee budgets, vendor selection, contracts, bidding, PO processing and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, permits, life safety and safety standards.
• Lead cross‑department collaboration and communication with Senior Leadership and the Board.
