Job summary
Harborview-Health-System is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the facility's ongoing maintenance of mechanical systems and infrastructure. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, life-safety compliance, and readiness for surveys within a healthcare environment.
The director will prioritize work orders, supervise maintenance staff, and coordinate with vendors to ensure safe, compliant operation of all building systems and sites.
Qualifications
- NFPA knowledge or experience preferred.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Availability to respond to emergency maintenance needs as required.
- Experience managing vendors and maintenance budgets is a plus.
- Proven documented success in NC Life Safety Survey.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform routine maintenance of facility mechanical systems.
- Develop preventive maintenance practices and keep building in excellent repair.
- Prioritize and complete work orders in TELS.
- Maintain life safety compliance per CMS regulations.
- Support survey readiness and ensure safety/environmental compliance.
- Manage maintenance staff.
- Duties as assigned.
