Job summary

Catholic Health Services is seeking a Technician, EVS to perform cleaning of rooms, hallways and common areas, and to strip and wax floors using buffers, scrubbers, and extraction equipment, all while following infection control and safety procedures.

You will transport garbage daily, report supply shortages, participate in in-service training, and support other units as needed. A High School diploma and healthcare setting experience are preferred, with basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred depending on role.
• Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Must have knowledge of computer office/clinical software.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily room cleaning that includes mopping, dusting and removal of trash.
• Changes mop water in bucket every 3 rooms or as needed for routine cleaning and isolation rooms.
• Cleans hall walls and common areas including dusting, damp mop, railings, furniture and pictures.
• Cleans utility rooms daily.
• Cleans facility entrances interior and exterior and vacuums mats.
• Throws out garbage and moves soiled linen to laundry area.
• Strip and wax floors per schedule.
• Reports supply, linen and chemical shortages to supervisor.
• Participates in staff in-service training.
• Follows infection control and safety precautions.
• Provides orientation to new employees as needed.
• Floats to other units as assigned.
• Maintains mandatory skill updates.
