Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to support a clean, safe patient care environment on weekends and one weekday day shift. Responsibilities include maintaining hygiene standards, disposing of biohazards per EPA/OSHA, and assisting with moves and supply delivery.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year in healthcare housekeeping preferred.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
6 months to 1 year of experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintains clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned work areas following departmental policies and procedures.
Proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA/OSHA codes; handle disposal of environmental contaminants.
Maintains equipment, carts, floor machines, and supply closets to project a professional hospital appearance.
Complies with PPE requirements to protect against exposure to blood and other hazardous substances.
Follows hand hygiene policies and safety practices.
Performs carpet and hard surface flooring maintenance per procedures.
Notes safety concerns with equipment and reports issues per safety policy.
Uses wet floor signs and safety measures to prevent slips.
Interacts with patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
Assists with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as requested by supervisor.
