Job summary

University of Southern California (USC) seeks an Environmental Services Worker to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment in Los Angeles. This per diem, non-exempt EVS position supports rotating eight-hour shifts and is union-represented.

You will follow infection control standards, handle waste per policy, and document tasks while collaborating with a patient-care team. Prior cleaning or hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months Customer Service experience in a team-oriented, high-volume environment.
• Healthcare housekeeping, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write Basic English.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
• Able to function independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established orderliness, cleaning, and safety standards set by the department.
• Complies with proper patient room cleaning policies.
• Practices Infection Control Standards/Requirements
• Dusts, mops, and cleans public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas of the facility.
• Completes high and low dusting on surfaces following department procedures.
• Observes and reports items and equipment in need of repair to appropriate person.
