Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment across patient and public areas. The role includes cleaning, waste handling, and equipment operation while adhering to infection control guidelines.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential, with preferred high school diploma and at least six months of housekeeping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Performs cleaning tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and using cleaning equipment.
• Cleans various locations including patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
