Job summary

Riverside Health System in Smithfield, Virginia is seeking an Environmental Aide to perform housekeeping in patient rooms, corridors, and common areas. You will ensure clean, safe conditions in compliance with infection control standards and RHS policies.

Responsibilities include restocking supplies, handling cleaners safely, and assisting the team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness across departments. Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare preferred; AED certification is a bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• 1 year housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
• Certified AED (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Cleans all assigned areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and common areas using appropriate cleaning methods
• Uses correct cleaners and labels/stores chemicals safely
• Restocks supplies and cleans carts daily to maintain smooth operations
• Maintains a safe patient care environment by complying with RHS, regulatory standards and infection control guidelines
• Performs cleaning duties timely, safely, and thoroughly per schedules and policies
• Ensures areas are cleaned and monitored to maintain high quality of order and cleanliness
