Job summary

UCSF Health, AG seeks an experienced EH&S leader to oversee Environment of Care, fire and life safety, and hazardous materials programs. You will coordinate testing, waste management, and regulatory readiness while guiding cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong risk assessment, communication, and independent work with on-site presence in Oakland and San Francisco. You will work closely with Infection Prevention, Facilities, Environmental Services, and local Fire Department officials to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience.
• Deep knowledge of EOC, fire and life safety, hazardous materials and waste management.
• Understanding of local, state and federal regulations (TJC, CMS, NFPA, NFPA 101, OSHA, EPA, CDPH).
• Ability to interpret regulatory codes and hospital policies to ensure compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S program areas including fire alarm/suppression testing and waste management.
• Coordinate with Infection Prevention, Facilities and local Fire Department for safety readiness.
• Audit compliance, report findings, and support Joint Commission and regulatory surveys.
• Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance to teams, ensuring risk mitigation.
• Respond to emergencies and provide after-hours support as needed.
