Job summary

Preferred Care At Hamilton is seeking a Cook to join our healthcare team in Hamilton, NJ. You will prepare and serve food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, following the facility menu and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, sanitation, and assisting dietary aides as needed. A professional, team-oriented approach and the ability to direct others in the supervisor's absence are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.
• Must be detail-oriented, well-groomed and professional.
• Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, nutrition and sanitation rules.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares and serves food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu.
• Prepares food according to federal, state and local standards and policies to ensure quality service.
• Assists in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Acts as a team player and may direct other employees in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
