Job summary

Trinity Health Legal Department seeks a licensed attorney to join the team supporting MercyOne Medical Center Des Moines. The role handles a variety of routine to moderately complex legal matters with independent judgment and client contact.

The attorney will work under supervision of a senior attorney, prepare memoranda, advise Ministries and System Office, and represent Trinity Health in matters involving substantial risk. Travel to various Trinity Health sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with a J.D. from a recognized law school.
• Experience with corporate healthcare law preferred, including tax-exempt organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to relate to diverse constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal services for Trinity Health System Office and Ministries with independence and client contact.
• Prepare memoranda and legal opinions; advise Ministries and System Office on complex matters.
• Represent Trinity Health in dealings with outside parties and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
