Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Cleaning Technician at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. The role involves routine cleaning of patient rooms, operating rooms, public areas and offices to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The position is casual, with a schedule of Saturdays and Sundays 7am–3:30pm as needed, and employees work on an as-needed basis with varying hours. Previous healthcare cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housekeeping cleaning practices.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to follow verbal and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services assigned areas of the facility in a timely manner to ensure a safe, sanitary environment.
• Maintains and operates cleaning equipment safely and reports needed repairs to ensure quick servicing.
• Mixes and uses cleaning chemicals per manufacturer directions and department procedures.
• Restocks linens and ensures adequate linen supply at assigned facilities.
• Performs daily cleaning of linen storage and distribution areas; maintains clean surfaces and floors.
• Adheres to safety and infection control guidelines and participates in mandatory trainings.
