Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Security Officer to help establish and maintain hospital security across facilities. You will patrol to prevent fire, theft and vandalism and respond to security needs of personnel.

The role requires confidence, effective communication, and the ability to handle difficult situations. You will interact with staff, patients, visitors and law enforcement, maintaining a professional image at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• SRHS Healthcare Security Training and de-escalation training by orientation end.
• Minimum 1 year of security or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the facility to prevent fire, theft and vandalism and respond to security needs of personnel.
• Investigate incidents or unusual occurrences; provide follow-up and documentation.
• Testify in court when requested by subpoena; ensure actions align with SRHS procedures and policies.
• Interact professionally with all hospital departments, patients, visitors, medical staff and law enforcement.
