Job summary

Insight Billing Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Clerk to support accurate reimbursement by verifying patient insurance coverage, documenting benefits, and processing claims. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Billing Supervisor.

You will work with insurance carriers, clinics, and patients to resolve billing issues, handle denials, and maintain PHI compliance under HIPAA. Strong research and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in medical billing or related healthcare administrative role preferred.
• Ability to navigate insurance portals, payer systems, and billing software accurately and efficiently.
• Strong research, problem-solving, follow-up, and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle PHI per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and benefits, reviewing eligibility and plan requirements.
• Research benefit information by contacting insurance companies, clinics, or patients.
• Submit and track claims electronically and by paper.
• Complete benefit verifications and update billing systems with accurate information.
• Work rejected claims, identify denial reasons, and take appropriate follow-up actions.
• Maintain compliance with government regulations, payer guidelines, and internal procedures.
• Protect confidentiality and PHI, ensuring privacy and security.
• Manage workload and priorities, meeting deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
• Support a professional team culture and assist with related duties as needed.
