Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles, Inc invites a Billing Specialist to ensure timely billing, accurate charges, and efficient reimbursement across FHCCGLA sites. You will post charges/payments, follow up denials, and generate weekly statements while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, FQHC experience preferred, and proficiency with NextGen EHR/PMS and MS Office. Some travel and strong analytical skills could apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• FQHC experience highly preferred.
• Prior accounting and collections experience required.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Strong writing and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with NextGen EHR/PMS and Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist productivity based on reimbursement rates, visits and revenue sources.
• Review and update processes to maximize reimbursement.
• Respond to incoming correspondence and documents.
• Post charges and payments; follow up on denials.
• Track claims and distribute to payers; handle electronic transmission.
• Print and mail statements; ensure accurate charges and dates.
• Train billers and staff as needed; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Coordinate patient eligibility with third-party sources.
• Attend quarterly meetings and trainings; support policy updates.
• Maintain knowledge of payer programs and FHCCGLA services.
