Responsibilities include preparing final bills, rebills, and documenting communications with payors; must understand UB04/HCFA 1500 guidelines and hospital workflows.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in insurance billing or collections; knowledge of hospital business office functions.
• Preferred: Some college; 2 years of experience in insurance billing/collections.
• Familiar with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient accounting applications such as Epic Resolute, Dentrix Dental, Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily billing of claims to third-party insurance following UB04/HCFA 1500 guidelines.
• Performs routine follow-up on unpaid insurance claims to resolve delays.
• Documents communications with payors; submits final bills, secondary claims, rebills, and late charges.
• Prioritizes accounts in the work queue and adheres to department workflows.
