Job summary

MMF Marshall Family Medicine seeks an Authorization Specialist to obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures, DME, and medications, coordinating with clinicians, patients and insurers to ensure a smooth workflow.

You will support a fast, efficient authorizations process, maintain HIPAA privacy, and verify insurance eligibility while providing high-quality customer service in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least two years in customer service, preferably healthcare.
• Experience with EPIC EHR.
• One year of experience with insurance or medication authorizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures, DME, and medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, providers and insurers to speed the authorization process.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and protect patient information.
• Communicate effectively with patients and care team to support service quality.
• Verify insurance eligibility and process authorization requests.
