Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year healthcare collections experience.
• Knowledge of insurance follow-up, claims appeals, denials, and reimbursement processes.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and productivity.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices.

Responsibilities

• Works aged trial balance as assigned by collector workstation by phone or online.
• Responsible for 1000-1400 accounts and collects maximum reimbursement from all sources.
• Sends collection letters as necessary and verifies information for accuracy.
• Follows up with underpaid, rejected, or denied accounts with patients, guarantors, or insurers.
• Files appeals as appropriate and refers accounts to external collections when needed.
• Maintains documentation of all patient contact and updates information as required.
