Job summary

Kontakt.io is seeking an experienced Data Science Lead in New York City to design, develop, and deploy ML models that power AI‑driven healthcare operations. You will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle, coordinate with Product and Engineering, and translate business goals into measurable ML outcomes.

You will lead a high‑performance data science and ML engineering team in a hybrid work setup, mentoring engineers, ensuring production readiness, and delivering measurable business impact for hospital

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or related roles.
• Proven leadership with ability to drive technical strategy and mentor a high‑performance team.
• Strong Python skills and hands‑on ML framework experience (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn).
• Experience deploying and monitoring production ML systems and pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and scalable ML infrastructure.
• Knowledge of healthcare data, EHR systems, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of assigned ML models from ideation to deployment and validation.
• Translate business goals into measurable data science objectives and KPIs.
• Design and run robust A/B tests to quantify model impact and define success metrics.
• Deliver production‑ready, well‑documented code following engineering standards.
• Package and deploy models as services (APIs, microservices) with CI/CD.
• Maintain reliability, scalability, and performance of models and data pipelines.
• Build dashboards and alerts for model health, drift, and SLA compliance.
• Monitor for degradation or data drift and proactively resolve issues.
• Lead on‑call rotation for ML systems and incident response.
• Perform RCA within 48 hours of incidents and document remediation actions.
• Serve as SME for domains like patient journey and asset utilization.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to communicate insights and roadmaps.
• Identify high‑value data sources and upstream improvements for new capabilities.
