The Healthcare Administrator manages the operational, regulatory, and administrative workflows that support a technology-enabled healthcare business. The role coordinates payer, provider, patient, and internal operations across systems such as EHR platforms, claims tools, CRM software, and compliance documentation repositories. This role matters because accurate workflows and disciplined oversight directly affect patient access, claims performance, audit readiness, and provider satisfaction. The administrator will turn healthcare requirements into repeatable processes, monitor service levels, and partner with product, engineering, finance, and clinical operations teams to resolve operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve administrative workflows for provider onboarding, eligibility verification, referrals, authorizations, billing support, and patient communications
- Maintain accurate records across EHR, CRM, claims, scheduling, and document-management systems; define data-quality checks and escalation procedures
- Monitor operational KPIs such as authorization turnaround time, claim error rates, enrollment status, service-level adherence, and unresolved work queues
- Coordinate compliance activities related to HIPAA, CMS requirements, payer policies, state regulations, audits, and internal control documentation
- Manage cross-functional projects involving healthcare operations, systems implementations, workflow automation, and process changes from requirements through rolloutInvestigate operational defects and recurring exceptions, partnering with product and engineering teams to document root causes and prioritize fixes
- Prepare dashboards, SOPs, audit materials, and leadership updates using tools such as Excel, Google Workspace, Jira, Salesforce, Tableau, or comparable platforms
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of experience in healthcare administration, provider operations, payer operations, medical group administration, or healthcare technology operations
- Working knowledge of US healthcare workflows, including eligibility, prior authorization, referrals, claims, provider enrollment, and HIPAA privacy and security requirements
- Experience administering or supporting EHR, practice-management, claims, CRM, ticketing, or healthcare operations platforms
- Strong analytical and process-design skills, with the ability to build operational reports, identify trends, and improve data quality
- Demonstrated project-management experience coordinating stakeholders, documenting requirements, managing timelines, and delivering process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health information management, business, public health, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
- Bonus: Experience with HL7 or FHIR workflows, Medicare or Medicaid operations, SOC 2 or HITRUST controls, SQL or BI reporting, and healthcare implementation projects
