Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, Texas, seeks a Health/Wellness Lead to supervise health/wellness personnel and ensure labor and sales align with profitability objectives.

You will manage stock levels, provide product knowledge on vitamins and natural items, and maintain quality through proper rotation and safety practices. The role emphasizes customer service and teamwork within a supportive retail environment.

Job Summary

Leads Health/Wellness personnel and ensures labor and sales are in line with profitability objectives. Maintains stock levels of products and ensures they are displayed according to Company standards. Provides customers with knowledge on products such as vitamins, natural/organic items, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with upper management to review historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions.
• Manages inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
• Reviews profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; provides verbal or written summary to upper management regarding any related issues.
• Ensures product is within date and rotated accordingly to maintain quality control.
• Provides customers with information on products such as vitamins, natural/organic items, home and beauty care, etc.
• Installs security tags to merchandise to ensure items are not stolen.
• Checks inventory on trucks, unloads products, and ensures accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork.
• Accountable for health/wellness sales, labor, and meeting financial and profitability objectives.
• Promotes product sales through use of suggestive selling initiatives.
• Stacks pallets and sorts product into correct locations according to Company efficiency standards and expectations.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
• Provides friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of alcohol regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to read and operate bar equipment such as corkscrews, draft beer dispensers, etc.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as an ice machine, commercial glass washers, commercial ovens, etc.
• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

High school Diploma or GED and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required. Minimum of 18 years of age required. Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy. Food Handler certification required. TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
