Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK is recruiting for a Health Unit Coordinator in the Prep and Recovery department. This part-time position (0.5 FTE) runs Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and supports patient flow, supply management, and equipment needs.

Under supervision, you will assist with coordinating unit activities, maintaining a safe environment, and cross-training to support other units.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Terminology coursework within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Health Unit Coordinator training; Pharmacology coursework.
• Preferred: Certified Health Unit Coordinator - National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (upon hire).
• 6 months experience in health care activities or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit activities and flow of information between teams.
• Facilitate movement of patients through the unit.
• Provide technical support by maintaining equipment and stocking needed areas.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free, clean environment supporting patient-focused care.
• Cross-train within the division to support other units.
