Aspire Rural Health System in Cass City, Michigan is hiring a Health Unit Coordinator to support patient flow, information management, and interdepartmental communication in our Med/Surg unit.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, CENA certification preferred, and strong knowledge of medical terminology and Microsoft Office. Prior HUC or ward clerk experience is a plus; ability to work independently and with tact is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator preferred.
• CENA certification required.
• Experience as a Health Unit Coordinator/Ward Clerk or as a CENA preferred.
• Demonstrated communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Competency Evaluated Nursing Assistant (CENA) required.

• Demonstrated appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner with accuracy and thoroughness.
• Demonstrated ability to respond well to supervision and to work independently when appropriate.
• Demonstrated excellence with communication skills, both written and orally.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, attention to their importance, and understanding of responsibility involved.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and Excel.
