Job summary

Kettering Health Washington Township in Centerville is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Technician for full-time night shifts. The role supports the interdisciplinary patient care team, manages patient records, and maintains communication with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel.

Applicants must complete KH Health Unit Coordinator training upon hire and may have 6 months of healthcare customer service experience with CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the patient care unit with unit leadership.
• Serve as a resource for physicians and other care team members on the EMR and patient care processes.
• Assist with telemetry monitoring where appropriate.
• Report to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Requirements

• The Health Unit Coordinator or Monitor Tech serves as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
• The HUC collaborates with unit leadership in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the patient care unit. This includes the process of patient records and ongoing communication with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel.
• The HUC serves as a resource for physicians and other members of the health care team for the electronic medical record. The incumbent plays an integral role in the patient care experience, and both directly and indirectly impacts the perception of care. Performs other duties as assigned.
• Health Unit Coordinator and Monitor Technician also hold additional responsibilities related to telemetry monitoring where appropriate.
• The Health Unit Coordinator or Monitor Technician reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Applicants Must Have:

• Successful completion of KH Health Unit Coordinator training upon hire into role

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months experience in customer service, experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Certification in CPR/BLS
