The Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas, seeks a Health Technician (Anesthesia) for a direct hire solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those new to Federal service.

To qualify, you must meet experience requirements described, including one year of specialized experience in anesthesia support. Substitution of education for experience is not permitted for this position.

• One year of specialized experience assisting the anesthesia process, including passing items to the anesthetist and recovering patients from anesthesia.
• This definition is typical of work at the GS-05 level.
• Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for experience, but for this job education substitution is not permitted.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Basic Requirement for Health Technician (Anesthesia)

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the anesthesia process performing such actions as passing items to the anesthetist or recovering patients from anesthesia.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
