Responsibilities

• Perform a range of direct care duties including measuring temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation; measure height and weight; assist with glucose testing and sample collection including phlebotomy.
• Prepare and advise patients for collection of timed blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Process requests following established laboratory procedures and protocols.
• Receive and process telephone calls for the team.
• File all medical records and correspondence; maintain confidentiality of patient information; complete clinical reminders.
• Maintain all facets of the medical record and ensure patient demographics are accurate.
• Direct patient flow through the clinic from check-in to check-out; coordinate admissions and outpatient processing procedures.
• Orient, coach and educate patients, staff and students; support tele-health clinics and processes.

Summary

The clinic Health Technician is responsible for the clinical and clerical functions of patient care in order to promote timely and efficient patient care. This is an Intermittent appointment. Intermittent employees are used on an as needed basis - with no guarantee of hours. This is an open continuous announcement. Applicants will be accepted on a ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered. The close date for this announcement is September 30th - 2026.

Duties

• Duties include but are not limited to: Perform a range of direct care duties that include but not limited to performing temperature - blood pressure - respiratory rate - oxygen saturation measurements - measuring height and weight - patient transfers - glucose testing - collecting specimens and phlebotomy
• Prepares and advises patients for collection of timed blood - urine - and stool samples
• Process requests following established Laboratory procedures and protocols
• Receives and processes telephone call for the team
• Files all medical record information and correspondence in patients file
• Maintains confidentially of electronic - written - and/or verbal patient information Completes clinical reminders

• Directs patient flow through the clinic from check in through checking out
