Job summary

Aon is seeking a Health Solutions Actuarial Senior Consultant in Boston, MA. You will lead actuarial engagements, design health benefits strategies, and manage client relationships across jumbo accounts.

The role requires an FSA/ASA designation, 6+ years health care experience, and strong project/people management. Hybrid work model with comprehensive benefits and incentive plans.

Qualifications

• FSA/ASA designation required or equivalent senior actuarial certification.
• 6+ years of health care industry experience (carrier or consulting).
• Project management experience demonstrated across engagements.
• People management or mentoring experience with coaching responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform health solutions strategy and actuarial consulting including benefit design, budgeting, pricing strategy, and bid/selection projects.
• Provide actuarial client leadership for targeted clients/prospects and build client relationships.
• Demonstrate leadership in anticipating client needs and developing alternative solutions.
• Explain actuarial methodologies and results to clients, including potential alternatives.
• Lead strategic client discussions and contribute to overall engagement success.
• Coordinate actuarial work with teams, provide coaching, and sign off on results for jumbo clients.

What the Day Will Look Like

• Perform strategy and actuarial consulting to include the following: (Benefit strategy, Goal setting, Benchmarking, Plan design, Pricing strategy, Budget setting, Bid/selection projects)
• Provide actuarial client leadership on targeted clients/prospects focusing on broader business objectives such as: (Take ownership of outcomes, Delegate responsibilities effectively; coach and mentor team members, build relationships with clients, Understand clients' business, Analyze scoping needs)
• Exhibit leadership in business judgment in anticipating client/project needs and developing alternative solutions.
• Explain actuarial methodology and results to clients, as well as potential alternatives.
• Participate in strategic discussions with clients.
• Effectively lead actuarial client teams, share client background and goals, measure results, share ideas, identify process improvements, provide timely and regular coaching and feedback to team members.
• Lead actuarial work on client teams, provide technical coaching to other team members, and provide ultimate sign-off on results; likely play role on broader actuarial team on jumbo clients, managing large actuarial projects and deliverables, and coordinating with other actuarial team members.
• Contribute to the improvement of the practice (through national model development/maintenance, leading initiatives, etc.)

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $140,000-$160,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
