Job summary

STEM Preparatory Academy in Nashville, TN is seeking a Health Science CTE Instructor – Medical Assisting to lead our high school healthcare pathway. This position focuses on hands-on instruction, industry preparation, and mentoring students toward healthcare careers.

The ideal candidate will bring real-world clinical experience and a passion for developing students through hands-on instruction, aligned to Tennessee Health Science standards and industry certifications such as CCMA.

Qualifications

• Active healthcare credential or certification (e.g., CMA/RN/LPN/Paramedic)
• Minimum 2–5 years of recent full-time clinical healthcare experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach Health Science CTE curriculum focused on anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and patient care
• Teach 3 of 4 classes on a 90-minute block schedule with one 30-minute PLT
• Monitor student progress with assessments and industry certifications
• Collaborate with CTE team for planning, coaching, PLCs, and data-driven instruction
• Develop partnerships with local healthcare organizations and coordinate internships
• Mentor students as HOSA advisor and support leadership activities
• Maintain a 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM schedule and participate in school duties
