Job summary

Lifesteps, Inc. in Butler, PA is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Director to lead the organization’s health and safety programs.

This full-time role reports to senior leadership and requires developing, implementing, and monitoring initiatives to ensure compliance and a zero-incident culture. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, 2+ years directing health and safety functions in healthcare or human services, and is proficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (or related field) required or equivalent combination of education/certifications and experience.
• Two years of prior experience leading the Health and Safety function.
• Experience in Healthcare, Long-term Care, Public Health or Human Services is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA industry specific standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Engage workforce to promote safe and healthy working conditions.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and Life Safety regulations.
• Advise Leadership on health and safety matters.
• Oversee safety procedures and policies.
• Report safety metrics and conduct inspections.
• Develop and deliver staff safety training.
