Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Mount Pleasant, PA, is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist to drive safety excellence across our operations. You will coach teams, perform risk assessments, and lead investigations to protect workers and improve performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in safety/science, 2–5 years in HSE, OSHA knowledge, and strong communication skills. Night shift availability is expected in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of health, safety, and environmental experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations in manufacturing settings.
• Experience developing and maintaining safety programs and systems.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• ASP and/or CSP certification is a plus.

• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence across the organization.
• Partner with leaders and employees to advance safety programs and initiatives.
• Deliver training, coaching, and guidance on safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend actions to reduce workplace hazards.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Lead incident investigations and support effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate audits and help maintain ISO-aligned management systems.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance safety performance and operational effectiveness.
