Job summary

Valeo is seeking an HSE Trainee/Apprentice for a 12-month internship in a full-time schedule. The role supports the Site HSE - J organization and focuses on safety, health, security and environmental procedures across the site.

The candidate can be a current student or a recent graduate (April/May 2026) in an environmental or occupational safety field, with coursework in lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in environmental or occupational safety, or April/May 2026 graduate.
• Preference for courses in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA.

Responsibilities

• Identify, establish, and implement Valeo Group requirements.
• Verify safety equipment complies with requirements.
• Conduct risk analysis and monitor regulatory surveys.
• Contribute to establishing HSE procedures and oversee their application.
• Perform inspections and internal audits; propose actions and assign responsibilities.
• Assist in implementing actions from inspections and audits, considering investments.
• Stay aware of developments in relevant legislation.
• Update Safety Data Sheets and ergonomic and PPE assessments.
• Review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions.

This position is a 1 year (12 month), 32-40 hours per week position

What You Will Do

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey
• You will help establish the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account
• Be aware of developments in the legislation.
• You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions

What You Should Have

• You should be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or occupational safety related field OR be an April/May 2026 graduate of one of those programs
• You preferably have completed classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA
