Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at the Mebane, NC site.

You will implement the group sustainability strategy, promote program adoption, and report progress to management, partnering with local operations to drive improvements. Responsibilities include reporting KPIs, executing sustainability projects, and developing objectives while training and engaging employees to sustain a safety- and environment-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, EHS, or related field.
• More than four years of experience in environmental, HSE, or sustainability roles, manufacturing environment highly desired.
• Knowledge of air, water, waste, chemical management, and applicable U.S. and North Carolina environmental regulations.
• Experience with sustainability projects, energy management, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions.
• Solid communication, data analysis, project management, training, and employee engagement skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, Excel, and Power BI highly desired.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving sustainability performance in your assigned area of responsibility. Each day, you will support the implementation of the group-wide sustainability strategy and business-specific priorities by applying in-depth knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also demonstrate your knowledge by sharing lessons learned and best practices from your team and across ABB with management and employees.

The work model for the role is: Onsite, NC, Mebane, 6801 Industrial Drive

Your Responsibilities:

• Assisting in reporting sustainability progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level sustainability objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as required.
• Supporting and promoting behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific programs and practices to ensure a clear focus on sustainability matters, across your respective organization.
• Contributing to and/or planning and executing sustainability-related projects.
• Developing project objectives and reporting the progress to management.

Your Background:
