Texas Chiller Systems in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Health and Safety Director to lead safety across our service, construction, warehouse, fleet, and office operations throughout Texas.

The role requires a practical leader with field credibility who turns safety requirements into clear expectations, conducts visits, inspections, and coaching, and partners with operations on risk analyses and training.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive health and safety experience in commercial construction or similar field-based environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading a safety program or team.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926, recordkeeping, investigations, and corrective-action management.
• Strong field credibility with the ability to coach employees and hold leaders accountable.
• Practical judgment and confidence addressing unsafe conditions and stop-work authority.
• Strong communication, presentation, training, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout Texas.
• CSP, CHST, ASP, OSHA Authorized Trainer, or related safety credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead companywide health and safety strategy and programs.
• Maintain programs aligned with OSHA 1910/1926, customer, and insurer requirements.
• Build a visible field presence through site visits, inspections, and coaching.
• Partner with operations on safety plans and high-risk work.
• Oversee safety orientation, training, and credentials.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain OSHA records and coordinate workers’ compensation and return-to-work matters with HR.
• Strengthen fleet and driver safety, including speeding, belt use, distracted driving, and telematics.
• Track safety trends, report results, and support leadership actions.
• Lead and develop the safety team while promoting accountability and reporting.
