Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the Health & Safety Department at Fort Knox, KY. The role involves coordinating site safety programs, inspections, training, and administration of the occupational health program, including industrial hygiene sampling.

You will ensure compliance with Kinross’ safety regulations and values, support safety policy implementation, and participate in routine site and contractor safety activities.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three years of mining experience preferred.
• Certification or ability to obtain certification as an MSHA instructor.
• Certification or ability to obtain certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist.
• Understanding of MSHA 30 CFR part 48B and part 56 preferred.
• Experience in industrial hygiene, emergency response and safety preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene sampling equipment and light vehicles.

Mansioni

• Assist with coordinating and conducting safety activities and safety training for employees, supervisors and contractors to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Support implementation of safety policies and rules regarding security, safety, industrial hygiene, and medical services.
• Attend site and contractor safety meetings.
• Coordinate and perform regular site and contractor safety inspections.
• Coordinate MSHA training such as New Miner MSHA and Experienced Miner MSHA refreshers, and other trainings as needed.
• Ensure contractor compliance with 10.3.
• Conduct industrial hygiene sampling for hearing, noise, dust, and hazardous gases.
• Possess or be willing to wear a respirator when required.
• Meet performance expectations and maintain punctuality.
