Job summary

Tennessee Valley Authority in Knoxville, TN is seeking an entry-level Technician, Health Physics A to support routine radiological surveys and monitoring activities under close supervision.

The role focuses on performing prescribed tasks, maintaining exposure records, and assisting the health physics staff with field duties. Requires an A.S. degree in a related field and willingness to rotate shifts, travel as needed, and obtain plant access.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
• Must be able and willing to assume on-call rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability.
• Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by NPG procedures during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform limited radiological surveys to assess hazards and carry out routine surveillances and inspections.
• Maintain radiation exposure records and monitor radiation equipment.
• Assist health physics staff with assigned field tasks and activities.
