Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Health Physics Associate to support laboratory radiation safety audits, calibrations, and emergency response under the Health Physics Manager.

The role includes decommissioning, GLD program oversight, patient surveys, and reporting metrics. A Bachelor's degree in physical sciences with 3 years of related experience is required; work is regular daytime onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical science (biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science or related), nuclear medicine, nuclear engineering or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory radiation safety audits and audit reporting and metrics.
• Handle GLD program and decommissioning and lab closeouts, and radiation emergency response.
• Conduct patient surveys and instrument calibrations; contribute to safety programs and compliance.
