Job summary

Randstad USA seeks a Health Physicist for an onsite Valencia, CA role. This permanent, non-exempt position reports to the Health Physics Manager and includes a relocation package and employer-paid medical/dental benefits.

You will monitor safety programs, perform radiological surveillance, handle waste streams, and calculate doses—supporting a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Health Physics or related field with radiological laboratory experience.
• 2–3 years of Health Physics experience in safety programs and dose calculations.
• Working knowledge of radiation safety regulations and survey methods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor onsite radiation safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide radiological surveillance support for production activities under SRWPs.
• Collect and package radioactive waste and manage tracking databases.
• Calculate internal and external doses for employees, visitors, and the public.
• Repair, calibrate, and maintain geiger counters and ion chambers.
• Travel to the Burbank, CA office to support cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor onsite radiation safety programs to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide radiological surveillance support for production activities covered by Special Radiological Work Permits (SRWPs).
• Collect, prepare, package, and assay radioactive waste for disposal while managing the tracking database.
• Calculate and evaluate internal and external radiation doses for employees, visitors, and the public.
• Repair, maintain, and calibrate crucial survey instruments, including Geiger counters and ion chambers.
• Travel to the Burbank, CA office (10-20% of the time) to provide cross-functional team support.

Qualifications

Required:

• BS degree in Health Physics or a related scientific field with radiological laboratory experience.
• 2-3 years of dedicated experience in Health Physics-related activities.
• Working knowledge of radiation safety regulations, safety surveys, and dose/effluent calculations.
• Strong mathematical proficiency, clear communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred

• Basic programming experience.
• Master's degree in Health Physics.
