The role requires a high school diploma or medical assistant training, plus at least 1 year MA experience and 2 years of administrative work. A driver’s license is preferred for occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant.
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Preferred Associate's Degree.
  • Medical Assistant program graduate.
  • Driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions.
  • Prepares exam rooms and assists providers during exams, procedures and testing.
  • Room patients and obtain health information for visits.
  • Schedule procedures, diagnostic testing, and office visits.
  • Provide patient instructions and liaise between physicians and patients.
  • Maintain physician calendars and screen/direct calls.
  • Support front office with registration, insurance verifications, precertification and billing.
  • Order and track inventory of clinical and operational items.
  • May travel to satellite offices to support physicians.

GENERAL OVERVIEW: This job supports and enhances the activities of the practice by providing administrative and clinical support and coordinating daily operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions. Coordinates and/or performs clinical support duties not limited to preparing exam rooms, rooming patients to obtain health and physical information, and assisting healthcare providers in the delivery of patient care during exams, procedures, testing and administering injections. Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing, and/or office visits. Provides patients with instructions and serves as liaison between the physician and patients. Maintains physician(s) calendars. Screens and directs telephone calls as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions and responds to internal and external customer inquiries. Supports front office including registration, chart preparation, insurance verifications, precertification, and billing functions. Orders and tracks inventory of operational and clinical items. Performs other duties as assigned or required. May travel to satellite office locations to support physician(s) as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certified Medical Assistant 1 year of Medical Assistant experience 2 years of administrative experience Preferred Associate's Degree Medical Assistant program graduate Driver's license
