Job summary

Mintz is seeking a Senior Associate with 6+ years of health care M&A experience to join the Health Law Transactions team in Boston, NY, or DC. You will represent health care providers, private equity sponsors, and other players in complex transactions such as mergers, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic affiliations.

The ideal candidate will independently manage transactions, provide practical legal advice, and support growth of the practice while mentoring junior attorneys.

Mintz’s Health Law practice is uniquely positioned to guide clients through structural and operational challenges. Position Overview

Mintz is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate with 6+ years of M&A experience to join the Health Law Transactions team in our Boston, New York, or Washington, DC office. Candidates must have significant experience representing health care providers, private equity sponsors, and other health care industry participants in complex transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and strategic affiliations.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions, provide practical and strategic legal advice, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. This individual will quickly integrate into our nationally recognized health care M&A practice, contribute to the continued growth of the practice, and support a broad range of complex transactions for large provider and private equity clients. Candidates should possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to professional development and advancement toward partnership.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include leading and managing all aspects of sophisticated health care transactions, including structuring deals, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, overseeing due diligence processes, coordinating regulatory and specialist workstreams, and managing transaction execution from inception through closing.

The Senior Associate will serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients and will regularly interact with executives, in‑house counsel, co‑counsel, opposing counsel, and other advisors. Candidates should have substantial experience leading transaction teams, managing junior attorneys and specialists, delegating work effectively, and mentoring and developing team members. The role also requires strong business judgment, the ability to identify and proactively address client needs, and a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Successful candidates will possess outstanding organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Experience taking a significant leadership role on large transactions and independently handling smaller transactions is required.

Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm’s published guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA‑accredited law school
• Admitted to or eligible for admission to the MA, NY or DC Bar
• Must have 6+ years of strategic M&A experience, preferably in the health care industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities
• Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
• Familiarity with federal and state laws regulating health care providers, including the federal Anti‑Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, state corporate practice of medicine restrictions, and CON and licensure requirements is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $365,000. This position is bonus eligible.
