Job summary

Aptive seeks a Health IT Data Engineer to support IHSC HITU IT modernization and enterprise data environments. You will design, build, and maintain secure data pipelines, data structures, and integration workflows enabling analytics across IHSC clinical, operational, and administrative domains.

The role uses Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT frameworks; optimizes data models for reporting; and implements data validation and quality controls.

Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration with scripted development (Python).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms and enterprise data environments.
  • Understanding of healthcare or enterprise data environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain DHS/ICE fitness determination and execute a DHS NDA.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Health IT Data Engineer to provide advanced data engineering and analytics infrastructure support for the ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC) Health Information Technology Unit (HITU) IT modernization and enterprise data environments. This role designs, builds, configures, and maintains secure and reliable data pipelines, data structures, and integration workflows that enable analytics, reporting, and operational insight across IHSC clinical, operational, and administrative domains.

The Data Engineer performs scripted development using tools such as Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT frameworks; optimizes data models and schemas for reporting; and implements data validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes. All development, configuration, and implementation activities are conducted within authorized Government-managed platforms and environments under Government oversight, direction, and approval, with written authorization from the COR or designated Government technical representative required prior to deployment to production environments. This is a designated Key Personnel position under the contract.

The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering fundamentals with healthcare or enterprise data experience and can collaborate with Data Strategists, Data Analysts, and Solutions Developers to enable analytics and reporting while ensuring compliance with federal security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and store data from multiple internal and external systems.
  • Support enterprise analytics platforms by optimizing data models, schemas, and performance for reporting and dashboarding.
  • Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of IHSC data assets.
  • Support integration of healthcare, operational, and administrative data sources in alignment with enterprise data strategy.
  • Collaborate with Data Strategists, Data Analysts, and Solutions Developers to enable analytics use cases and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for data architectures, pipelines, transformations, and dependencies.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, auditability, and lineage tracking.
  • Ensure data solutions comply with federal security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with troubleshooting data issues and supporting operational continuity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows, including scripted development (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and data platforms.
  • Understanding of healthcare or enterprise data environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within Government oversight and approval processes, including obtaining written authorization prior to production deployment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE fitness determination (public trust) and execute a DHS Non-Disclosure Agreement.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DHS, ICE, IHSC, or other federal healthcare IT or EHR modernization (EHRM) programs.
  • Experience with healthcare data domains and integration of clinical, operational, and administrative data sources.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Experience building data solutions within Government-managed or otherwise controlled/regulated environments.
