Job summary

Pride Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking an HIM Analyst to verify authorizations and support the release process under a 1-year contract.

Responsibilities include responding to inquiries by phone, logging ROI requests, organizing mail and faxes, and ensuring EMR data security and privacy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or HIM degree, or HS diploma with healthcare experience (per above).
• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with electronic medical record systems.

• Courteously respond to internal and external inquiries by telephone and provide professional assistance throughout the release process.
• Retrieve, sort, and stamp incoming mail for logging and invoicing.
• Retrieve incoming faxes and organize documents for processing.
• Log all ROI requests in the ROI tracking system with requester information and records released.
• Password-protect electronic medical records and media as required.

Job description

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Duration: 1-year contract with a strong possibility of extension

Pay range: $28-$33/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify the authenticity and completeness of authorizations prior to processing, with particular attention to all required elements of the authorization.
• Courteously respond to internal and external customer inquiries by telephone and provide professional assistance throughout the release process.
• Retrieve, sort, and stamp incoming mail in preparation for logging and invoicing.
• Retrieve incoming faxes and organize faxed documents with daily mail in chronological order for processing.
• Log all Release of Information requests in the ROI tracking system, including requestor information, address, date sent, and types of records released.
• Password‑protect electronic medical records and media as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management; OR
• High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of healthcare work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting working with electronic medical record systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with Release of Information (ROI) processes.
• Experience working with medical records and health information management workflows.
